Hey .

I have a D90, and i just got my hands on a Auto Vivitar wide-angle 28mm 1:2,5 (no: 2223xxxx).

The thing is, i cant get anything in focus. I have no adapter, it fit without.
Anybody know something about it ?

Thanks .

It is manual focus only. So if you are trying to autofocus it won't work. If it isn't focusing at all throughout the range it might have other issues.

Is it a nikon mount or a T2 in which case you need a cheap adaptor from e bay ..you will have to use it in M mode and remember 28mm is not very wide on a D90 DX model.

You can make the Manual mode a bit more auto by setting the auto iso to 100 to 1600 as this will give you some range of acceptale exposure over 4 stops

4 stops with a D90 is pushing it a bit I fear, maybe 3 stops would be better. Sound idea though.

    Sorry , i was travling .

I know it is manual focus, i think the mount is wrong, it fit but it dont focus no metter how far i focus. It will focus but only 10-15 cm from subject, like a micro lens.
Hmm iso 1600 on a D90 dont look good , im only into iso 100-800 .

What adapter do i need ? And how do i find out what mount is on the lens right now, it is blank so i have no info .

    Sorry for late reply
