Flat lenses !

Just when we thought phase fresnel was awesome ... What a revolution ! Flat lenses from nanotechnology !

Imagine lenses with 5% of current weight !! and maybe 20-50 % of current lengths and At least 1 stop in aperture improvement ! !!

Would be amazing with the onset of the mirror-less era. This enables whole new design concepts for cameras !!

    So many great ideas.....and when I see the 800mm f/5.6 in a size of a 50mm f/1.4 Summilux, and with better resolution....if that is possible...LOL....then I will get excited.

    All you need is a 16X extender.
    D810, D3x, 14-24/2.8, 50/1.4D, 24-70/2.8, 24-120/4 VR, 70-200/2.8 VR1, 80-400 G, 200-400/4 VR1, 400/2.8 ED VR G, 105/2 DC, 17-55/2.8.
    Nikon N90s, F100, F, lots of Leica M digital and film stuff.

    The front element would still be the same diameter :-) but you could probably hand hold it :-) . At about 1 lb :-) would be the heaviest nikkor lense.

    Its an awesome break through .. so many things can be done with it that were impossible before !! exciting stuff for the next 10 years ! especially combining with liquid lenses for VR !!
