WIFI NO LONGER CONNECTS

I'm curious if anyone else is having this issue. I have a VM MotoG 3rd Gen phone that was recently auto-updated by VM to Android 6.0.1. Whenever I now try to connect my Nikon P340 or J4, the phone tells me it's connected, but that there's "no internet". Meanwhile the camera says it's still trying to negotiate a link. Eventually the camera times out and a link is never made. Below is an image of the two in this dysfunctional state.
Now, before this phone was updated to this version of Android, I had no problem connecting the two together. I still happen to have an older Hisense tablet running Android 4.2.1 and the cameras still readily connect to it.
Has anyone else had this issue? Apparently some kind of security modification has been added to Android that's keeping the cameras from connecting. If anyone has a clue, please let me know. Thanks.

Another thought would be to just delete and reinstall Nikon SnapBridge?
