10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR AF-P DX

It's looking considerably smaller than the existing 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 and fixed 12-24mm f/4. Hope they keep up the current excellent optical performance that the other AF-P DX lenses have given us.

I suspect many here prefer more pro-like glass, but for the DX shooter, having a low cost, lightweight option now in ultra-wide focal lengths, should help stop the bleeding a bit.

    I have the 10-24/3.5-4.5 and it's a small lens. I'd be hard pressed to give up a stop of speed and the wider zoom range for the small difference in size. Most of these zooms are best stopped down a bit and I've been happy with the 10-24 @5.6. I wonder if the new lens is as good?

    This is a good move by Nikon. They can now start selling 3 lens kits covering the entire10-300mm range. Imagine getting a D3400 3 lens kit for $696.95.

    Or, they could go even further and do a 5 lens kit with 35/1.8DX and 85 macro for $1,096.95 and you'd be ready for just about anything.

    It's good to see Nikon addressing DX users ... even though Nikon already had older lenses in that segment.
    Tamron has a new 10-24mm DX lens, but Tamron is moving "north" while Nikon is more budget friendly. It'll be interesting to see reviewers compare them.
    I'm sure Tamron and Sigma, while making pros and enthusiasts happy these days, must take extra care not to lose those buyers that have not yet been caught by gear expense blindness.

    This lens and the new zoom fisheye are just reactions to Canon: Nikon brass have seen how the 10-18 is moving in huge volumes and that they needed to do a zoom fisheye to properly compete with Canon at the pro level. Thing is, Canon has for a year now been selling their 10-18 kitted with their latest nifty fifty for only $10 more than Nikon wants to charge for the 10-20, and Nikon will have to react to that, too. I had the 50 1.8g and didn't like it with my D5500 because it backfocused , also I believe that it costs Nikon much more to manufacture it than Canon's. I'll love to see Nikon pair the 10-20 with the 35, which should be cheaper to make than their 50 though maybe still not as cheap to make as Canon's, so maybe Nikon will let us have this combo under our trees for less than $350 for this Xmas?.

    This is a great lens offering.I use the Sigma 10-20 a lot and would way rather got the less expensive Nikkor!

    I'm guessing it's a Tokina 11-20? If so I have the same lens. Bought it specifically for Horseshoe Bend. Nice to have a wide angle option even though it's not used very much. Wish I had it in South America when I was touring churches.

    Picked up my AF-P DX Nikkor 10-20 this afternoon. Took a couple quick photos on my D500. Distortion looks significantly less than my 16-35 on a D750. I'll try to get some sample photos over the weekend. But I will say that it looks like a winner in terms of small size and affordability at least!

    I would,rather have the new Nikon than my Sigma 10-20. My guess is still that it is a great lens!
