Z6 shutter hesitancy?

I'm having issues with my Z6 where the shutter button doesn't seem to always be 100% responsive. Almost like it it set to focus priority but it isn't. AF actuates with a half press but sometimes it hesitates to make an exposure with a full press.
I need to play with it a little more but it seemed like the problem only happens with the Z 100-400 lens attached. I used my old F mount 70-200 2.8 and didn't notice the issue.
Any ideas? Anyone heard of anything like this?

It never came back, so I paid no attention to it. Very strange though.
