Crop from a recent D3x full body shot. I bought this old body with about 5,000 shutter actuations for about 7% of its original $8,000.00 price just to see what it was like to shoot with a camera I could not afford when it was released. The "magic of depreciation" can create opportunities. They are hard to find with low shutter counts since only working pros who used them hard were able to justify the price when released. Most you find today have well over 200,000 shutter actuations and are at risk for soon needing a new shutter. Natural light, ISO 800, f2, 1/125 sec., 85mm lens. The old "professional workhorse" RAW file holds up quite well.
