I though it would be helpful if we could have a list of how many images one could store on a given memory card with different bodies. I was unable to find a website with this information...so I figured we could start one for people to see and have some ideas.

D4 /w XQD Sony 16GB XQD H-Series (125MB/s) Memory Card: RAW: 278 Images -- JPG Fine Large: 644 Images
D4 /w XQD Sony 32GB XQD S-Series (168MB/s) Memory Card: RAW: 872 Images -- JPG Fine Large: 2000 Images
D4 /w SanDisk 32GB Extreme Pro CF memory card (UDMA 90MB/s): RAW: 872 Images -- JPG Fine Large: 2000 Images

D7000 /w SanDisk Extreme Pro 16 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card (95MB/s or 45MB/s): RAW: 449 images --- JPG Fine Large: 1000 shots

Please add to this topic given your body and memory cards you use....thanks.

    14 or 12bit?
    I only shoot in 14-bit.

Mr. Golf007, how come the 16GB card doesn't hold roughly half of what the 32GB does? Also you must be using "optimal quality" for your jpgs as the D4 manual (Page 444) says you should get 2900 using "size priority"

I doubt the brands of card will make much difference.

Dear Mr. Ironheart, having looked at page 444 (thank you for this info by the way) it would appear that you are correct on my setting. I try to take full advantage of my sensor and let the chips have to deal with storage. :P

I think all this information is in the Nikon manuals for the various image quality levels.

The information in the D90 manual, and what is shown on the lcd display is lower then what I've actually put on a card. For an 8 gig card, it shows 352 at maximum settings, but I've gone over 500 shots,

Yes, the calculation of photos is somewhat optimistic in the right direction. This is because actual size of an individual photo varies with the complexity of the image. Think of the number as "worst case". YMMV :-)
