I am sure there are many of us who find nice images and wonderful works.
So lets post and discuss some or your favourites here.

I will start with this lovely young lady I met today. She had an old Minolta film camera with a 50mm prime hanging off her shoulder. We had a nice chat and she gave me the URL to her website.. so I had a peep and was quite impressed.. (sharp images? who needs sharp images ! )

What do you think?

    Ronnie Gaubert was a nature shooter from Louisiana.He died of A.L.S. in 2011. The inspiration I get from viewing
    his work is what keeps me TRYING to do something half as good as anything that he ever shot.

    While on deviantart many years ago I became a fan of a DeviantArt Member called Koukei. One of his ongoing projects called "in my pants" where he asks his models while on jobs to pose in an old pair of jeans.. over the years he has had some awesome photos.. check out his other amazing work too. http://blog.peter-coulson.com.au/category/in-my-pants/

    @heartyfisher

    What is remarkable with Peter-Coulson is the very evident communication with the model as evidenced in the face...the models are "alive." This is what some of the great photographers such as Avedon, Hiro, Scavullo, Karsh demonstrated so clearly in their images. It is the look many of us strive for in the imaging of people....

    I have been fan of his for years.. my fan ship of him and Manny Librodo even got me to dabble in model photography .. realized very quickly its not for me :-) Its kind of fun looking at pretty little things .. but I rather shoot a bug in the end :-) LOL... still my new fanship (of msmoto) has got me interested in people shots again.. i am feeling the pull of street portraits. and I think a 70-200 F4 may be in my future soon :-)

    @ heartyfisher one thing for sure is that with street portraits you'll have a different subject every time. That's one reason I've gotten into it. I don't travel enough to accumulate a portfolio full of landscape and architectural photos. My world kind of stays the same so I've taken to an occasional human photo here and there..

    It would seem the important issue in street folks, any venue, is to make certain one's attitude is one of respect. It is easy to get caught in a demeaning view of those who may be less fortunate at one moment, but this will tend to kill the beauty of the image. Look at a lot of photos of people and some look like wax, others show the live emotion. And, IMO we are after the capture of the live emotion, not just a bunch of curvy lines and tones. Sometimes the situation shows an emotion which may not be pleasant...but the emotion is what we capture.

    One of my friends attended his workshop and applied his style when he first started photography. There's a lot of tutorials online that explain his technique. It's not really complicated, just a rather tedious and manual approach to each photo.

    I've been following his blog for a while- Jeffrey Friedl.

    http://regex.info/blog/

    He lives in Kyoto and has some great photography. I don't think he shoots professionally, he started off with a point and shoot, went to a D200, D700 and now has a D4 I think.
