I would add some swim goggles or safety glasses at a minimum as well. How many were flushing out their eyes really surprised me (but not after thinking about it.)

I decided to stick my gear in a ziploc bag .. so all good. .. http://www.instructables.com/id/Camera-Zip-lock/

Already bought the stuff and cut the hole and the camera is sitting in the plastic bag(not too hard to do). The whole bundle is in the drawer ready for this weekend ! Weather forecast for rain as well.. so that should be "fun".

I think you have the very best solution at the least cost. Good work. I think I would use Gaffer's tape or weather proof electrical tape of good quality. Duct tape can be of quite variable quality and in some cases does strange things.

I hope no minds that I dregged up this old thread, but I think I may have missed the final outcome. Did you take any shots of your hand-work? And what about shots of the event?

That's a shame. Thanks to your friend for the glimpse. I, for one, will not object to more shots. Looks like a lot of fun. At least you know what to do next time! I might have to take some of the advice here for a trip to the beach.

Sounds like a perfect assignment for the Nikon1 AW-1. I can assure you that my 11-27.5 does not suck air. Or water, for that matter
