One of our members asked me the difference between the Df and D800 in the following condition. I happened to have two pictures to show this and thought you'd all enjoy seeing it.

Both shots were taken in the exact same light and white balance, just different lenes.

    The question is which two lenses? Different lenses, or brands can have different colour casts.
    If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.

    This was the first time I had shot with the new LED stage lighting, wish all concert halls had it.

    I have been seeing quite a few venues adding LED stage lighting and have been wondering how cameras would react to it since it generally has a much harsher fall off and a stronger center beam than any other previous types. It looks quite good!

    It's a very clean light to shoot in. No color flares, distortions or fades, just really clean pure lighting.
    My cameras focus much better with the LED lighting and the noise level is much lower.
    I've got a shoot Saturday night and if they give me three songs to shoot in I'm going to try some f4 in the 3rd song. I really think the f4 will shoot great in the LED lighting.

    I wasn't sure where to post this, but the Df made Yahoo top banner stories;

    https://shopping.yahoo.com/news/nikon-df--new-shooter-blends-retro-charm-and-modern-superpowers-210235310.html

    And I was not aware of this, but it might make me break down and b..b... gulp... buy one. It takes pre-AI lenses???

    And in looking at some older posts on the Df, can you really change lenses so easily without fear of fouling the sensor?

    Yes, it accepts non-AI lenses, if you flip up the metering tab for AI lenses. Not sure what you mean by not fouling up the sensor? It is no more or less susceptible to dust than any other DSLR.

    Ah, too bad about the unimproved susceptibility to dust. I'd heard a few folks suggesting that it was better. I didn't question it, figuring that Nikon learned their lesson after the brouhaha over the D600. I still have a LONG way to go with learning to use the D7100 properly, so an FX body is a ways off.

    It's better than the D600, but just about all bodies Nikon's made before and sense are...

    I think you are misunderstanding the "Dust Issue" the D600 had an issue with oil spilling on to the sensor from the shutter. no other Nikon camera has this fault. Furthermore all the new cameras including the DF has ultrasonic sensor cleaning built in.
