Some amazing images today. kanuck, love that composition. And spraynpray, I really like that point of view. This was shot in the Mira Flores district of Peru a few years ago. D90 | 18-200 | 40mm | f/20 | 1/1000s | ISO 1000 I had been shooting indoors and forgot that my ISO was cranked.
Did some lighting testing after seeing something similar on a TV commercial. The self challenge was to see if I could replicate the same look. \ What it took: SB-910 mounted on a tripod about 2 feet behind the shoes and aimed away from the shoes toward the plant vase. A small flag (or go-bo) was gaff taped to the proximal side of the flash to prevent light from spilling over onto shoes. Gelled with 2 Roscoe gels to provide this rich color. I extended a low priced continuous video light mounted on a monopod held by me above the shoes in left hand - D7000 with Nikon 85mm f/1.4G @ f/2.2 ISO 160 held in my right hand. Although I could have used CLS for this, I decided to use the SC-28 cable to trigger flash. I'm positioned about 4 feet in front of the shoes. I think a bride would be happy to have a photo like this in her album.
