From a wedding that I photographed last weekend. This orchid was actually suspended by tiny wires as a part of the centerpiece for the tables. Using a large chandelier in the ceiling for background I captured this image with the D800 + 100mm Zeiss Makro-Planar *T ZF.2 at f/2.5 ; ISO 320 ; 1/100 sec and removed the wires in LR5.3.
Did a quick and dirty Green Screen test involving cloth of an unknown fabric that seemed ok, and wasn't too bad a price (much lower than ordering one from online stores and shipped to me) and using Topaz ReMask (which I already owned) and PhotoKey Lite 6 (which I got from a free download yesterday) I had one speedlight in a softbox on her upper right and a speedlight behind her aiming on the green screen itself to get some even light there. The green screen wasn't stretched out flat as I've learned it should be, nor did I spend too much time editing the extraction (and absolutely not much time at all on putting the background there...) I just wanted to see if I could get something workable for this low price (around 60 USD) There is some bleeding of green in both images, perhaps with a little more effort on my behalf I think I can make something useful next time. And I think I'll use the Topaz tool as then I can more easily use it in my workflow.
Now I only need a background of a lion or similar chasing something and put my daughter in there :-)

@Rx4Photo that is a cool idea for weddings, and it makes for interesting photos as well. Well I decided to go back to the Fremont Bridge, I liked that the clouds were here for the shot. D3100 | 18-55mm | F11 | 1/40 Sec | ISO100
Thank you Rifqi on the previous spider post, and thank you flight3 on the post above as well as those who've posted on Flickr! Always appreciated!! @ Gjesdal I'm not sure a green screen is needed. I'm a huge fan of composite work by Joel Grimes and will be trying my hand at achieving his look throughout this year. In his tutorials he's shooting with a white background. One of the challenges is shooting so the light and shadows on subject are the same as what's in the selected background.
@rx4Photo Yes, I sort of know, but tempting to try things out :-) Might use it for some short videos, then it could be more helpful. I am getting a proper white and black background, which will be far more in use than the green one.

Terrific picture. Not surprised its a steam machine. I have not been to the Henry Ford Museum in about 30 years. Back then it was a terrific place to take photos. Every time my wife and I went we spent hours there. Great photo opportunity.

Mark, Super…and your sharing the technique is appreciated.
