Your system is very RAM limited, that is likely the reason for the slowness. Now that Lightroom is a 64bit App it will take any RAM it can get it's hands on.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
No in fact the opposite, it seems faster, However if you use Lightroom for storage of images in Library, I have found OnOne 9.5 one of the fastest databases around especially if you are taking hundreds/thousands of images, its lighting fast for finding images.
I think LR CC is very fast. I import RAWs, and the previews are generated instantly. OK, I am on a Mac Pro, 6-core, 64GB RAM, but the files are on my NAS, and hence it shouldn't be fast in the first place.

I'm finding that LR CC takes longer to load my D810 RAWs in the develop module with the GPU turned on. Once they are loaded all actions are definitely much faster, but it's not fun trying to cull images and judge their sharpness waiting for the files to load into full res mode.
My LR is setup for using the graphics processor, and has it correctly identified as AMD Radeon HD - FirePro D700 OpenGL Engine.
The only thing that is "slow" is importing hundreds of RAW images (taken by my D800 and D810. I "added" 703 RAW images yesterday (all with reference and standard previews). The originals were stored on a ReadyNAS share (via AFP). It took some 6-7 minutes, including creation of previews.
This is significantly faster than with LR5, and in LR5 I have had a problem with the previews getting scrambled, and I haven't really been using it.
Yep, all is fixed with the updated LR:) Not only did the previews issues get resolved, but functionality-wise it is better as well. Now if only I could migrate the face identifications I have in Aperture into LR. LR has face recognition, but you can't migrate the ones already done in Aperture:(

I am getting the beachball constantly on my Late-2013 13" MBP Retina | 8GB RAM | 256GB SSD | OS X 10.10.3.
I've tried both with and without graphics accelerator turned on. I've optimzed the catalog, too.
Not sure what else to do.
