If Peter can set the height and width to 800px, then the images imported larger would show as goofy and folks would obey the 800px rule, providing he is OK with this. Although when I click on the 1024 image it pops back to full size and is nice.
But the link to Flickr seems to be active only with the 640px size.
Incidentally, this was taken with my little Olympus E-PL2
I think the issue is that beyond about 780px or so the text wraps and the photos are resized in order to protect all of the menus and controls that are positioned on the right hand column. It might be hard to change the position of these elements, or may be a piece of cake... Only Peter will know.
Hey, guys, let's all try to post 640px size, and have them link to an external host such as Flickr. I am trying to post a link to large sizes directly which allows very quick viewing of the larger size as in the example on PAD for today.
The final word on posting from Flickr is to simply copy the HTML code and paste it into the new post on NRF. Use the 640px size and post only one photo per 24 hours, please.
@Adamz: I think you have week-old mail from me. Can you please check your inbox. (As I'm flummoxed by Flickr, it wouldn't surprise me if I can't use the mail system here correctly either... :O )
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, so I am sorry if this has been addressed, but I was looking through this thread and did not seem to find the answer to what I was looking for, so I thought I may as well ask.
If one does not have a flickr, or website or anything...(besides a Facebook) is there a way to still add to the photo a day? By possibly uploading a picture straight from ones computer would be the easiest solution for myself. Thanks for the advice, I look forward to posting.
It is my understanding that the photos must have a website identity. There are many free photo posting websites, Flickr is the easiest and works well here.
The only thing you can post from Facebook is the link to the photo...the image will not show up.
Apparently my brain no workie today. I got the instructions just fine up until I get to the Write Comment space. In here, I don't see the <> icon, I just see eight tabs across the top on the comment entry box. I'm missing something very basic here. Help, please?

It is done via a URL. One cannot post from their personal computer. But, a Flickr account is free unless you want to place lots of images there. I find Flickr is a good way to store images so anyone can see them. You can adjust permissions to manage the ability to download, etc.
New guy but will get to my intro post and sig in a bit. Since I ran across this thread I wanted to try Photobucket. I already have that set up to resize for me so I don't have to mess with it and have two size files on my computer. I use 600 x 800 on the other sites I frequent so I thought I would try it here and see what happens. Otherwise I need to change that for this forum to a smaller size. Not a great shot but one of the first with my D600. edit:nope I will try another link Well the next one was html code but it also showed all my images on Photobucket besides the one I selected. I will see if there is a way to change that. Great forum, I hope to learn from others.
Found another way to try http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/DHunter_bucket/DAH_0332.jpg This appears to work. I see now the other one had [IMG] before and after it. That is what I usually do but never saw it show my whole library before. I'm going to copy and past that first link but take off the [IMG] before and after. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/DHunter_bucket/DAH_0332.jpg Ok that worked and went to the same place as the second one, just the image. It's a tad big (technical term) so the 640 x 480 might fit full image size or it looks like a DX crop. The current Beta version of Photobucket said it was uploading my originals now and saving them as 1024 x 768 which of course is too large. So it had changed on me. I set it to resize to 640 x 480 for this forum. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/DHunter_bucket/DAH_0335-5x7s100-100-cr.jpg Well it may not have taken the size. I will check that. I am using a 24 inch monitor and still have to scroll up and down. It shows 672 x 480. It calls this string "direct link" I hope all that made sense and helped some others as I found my way to post images here.
Msmoto, I tried posting via a Nikon Image Space issued URL. It did not work, any suggestions? I am guessing the image is too big or incorrectly sized. So far in Nikon Image Space I cannot re-size.
First, add some text to your composing box on PAD. Then, on Nikon Image Space, select photo from your images by highlighting. Click the "i" in the upper right hand corner of the box and this opens a sidebar on the left. At the bottom is one link which is labeled as Link URL. Copy this link and on your composing window in the PAD thread you will find the button which is the sixth one from the left is "image". Click this, then paste the link and it might work. Then the link will be pasted within some stuff which makes it work.

You are doing OK. One no longer has to click the <>. Just paste the HTML code for the 640 pixel size from Flickr in your post.
OK, lets try this. Thanks, Msmoto!
Dude, seems to work in preview. Terrific. \:D/

TO POST FROM Nikon Image Space...

I think on Nikon Image Space, above the URL Links is a window which has different sizes. These are from small to large.
Thank you! I'll try it out now
