    I would have liked to see a larger file of that shot TriShooter so as to be able to see the detail?

    I changed my flickr setting to allow the viewer to check any size, including the original which is 6000x4000. I seldom use Flickr so was unaware of the user having to set that control. ;)

    Any member of our Nikon Rumors forum is welcome to download the original file to play with it at your convenience on that link.

    Thanks @spraynpray for your comment on the 600mm image, and for posting the link correctly for me.

    This kind of detail at ISO 1600 makes my adrenaline pump. lol.

    You're welcome. In future if you use the 'embed' code at the 640 pixel size, then clicking on the NR image will take you though to the Flickr image where one can choose what resolution to view it at.

    That is excellent for ISO1600!

    What PP did you do? What package?

    The image above was done in Capture One which has an excellent raw engine. I changed it to my primary software after playing with linear conversion which I compared to Capture One's raw engine, and the others using Nikon's raw files,

    Consequently, I seldom use PS anymore unless I need a specific tool like liquify. Capture One allows me to use PS, and return quickly so I am not giving up much, especially since I can edit at a similar speed to LR with very fast, and precise control over skin tones, and color.

    Because of the way Phase One handle files, changing over was daunting until I realized Capture One's Session could be used in my existing LR directories. Now I am hooked because Capture One's file system is much more versatile, and is also portable.

    When you look at the raw file at ISO 1600 it is good, but also apparent the sensor technology is where the image is breaking down, not the new version of the 600mm lens.

    Ah, Lightroom. I wonder if you checked the chromatic aberration radio button in basic lens corrections - and even if it still works with a teleconverter fitted? I spotted a little CA on the LHS.

    @spraynpray

    I saw that too in the out of focus branch on the LHS. I shot almost directly into the sun so that is very strong the backlighting, so left it. It does come out in Capture One, so I assume it will in LR.

    @Msmoto

    If you really want to get pumped download my yesterday PAD post of the turtles on the log full size from Flickr, and scale it from 100 - 400 percent. LOL. I must have a little mischief in me today. ;)
