I have always loved how the Portugese tiled their squares and often their streets. Praca da Republica in Elvas is a fine example. Elvas is a hill town and former military citadel on the frontier with Spain and successfully defended itself against three Spanish sieges.
A friend asked me if I wanted to take some photos of one of the local hockey leagues....so, my first attempt....and I learned a lot .....planning on a rerun soon.
Gjesdal, you shouldn't be so shy. If you can't show this shot, then you can't show shots of the beach. And what a great shot it is.
My submission:
World's Best Ham, Barcelona, 2015
There are a few reasons why this was my fourth trip to Spain, and this is one of them. The Iberico Jamon - which is simply put, the world's best ham. There were five grades for sale here ranging from about 80 Euros per kilogram to 195 Euros per kilogram. Sorry Italians, while I love fine Parma ham and spent a fortune on it in Rome last March, I am not sure it is good enough to compete in this lineup. I didn't fly 8,000 kilometres to be cheap either. Every day it was the expensive stuff. Final bill for ham on this trip? Over a thousand Euros.
