Lovely s/moon shot AmericanLoonie, at least you got a chance to see it - No possibility of that where I am in the UK I'm afraid due to thick low cloud/rain - are well, how many years will it be before it happens again! Pic below is me still in a bit of a catch up mode - taken on 5th Nov Guy Fawkes Night - single burst over our village. D810 & 24-70 f/2.8 @ 55mm f/8 5secs ISO 400
This is probably the last of the LSLM series that are worth posting. I'll have to shoot something else for a while. I'm still pretty new to DLSR photography and migrated from a D5100 to a D610/D7200 pairing earlier this year. The 7200 is a very nice piece of equipment. I don't think I could have coaxed the 5100 into doing some of this. All I have to do now is learn how to use more of what the 7200 (and 610) can do.
It took about 30 minutes for the moon to climb above the clouds. Some people left, even one with a tripod and a DSLR. A good photo is not always convenient.
I was able to shoot yesterday and got a nice capture – while the atmosphere was heavy and clouds abound, it created a really nice effect. Technique was less than perfect as I was holding my kid, but the comp and edit are pretty solid.

More stunning moon shots - can't compete so will have to join Photobug with a recent Autumn colours shot! D810 & 24-70 f/2.8 @ 24.5mm 1/125 @ f/8.0 ISO 1000
Here's an edited single frame from a group of shots when the moon was already pretty high in the sky. Missed the opportunity for any kind of horizon shot due to low clouds. Hoping to stack this group and do some wavelet sharping to improve it. We'll see.

Thanks Photobug. Here's one from a trip last year to La Roque-sur-Ceze in the Gard department in southern France - Two lines of Plane trees which were planted by Napoleon along many roads across France to protect his marching troops from the heat of the sun. Ooooops.....apologies all the description on photo just posted is wrong (still getting the hang of Flickr!!). It's just a view of the village of La Roque-sur-Ceze (no Plane trees in sight - will post that one tomorrow and concentrate this time!).
Recently I've discovered a society that I didn't know existed. Hula hoops are still popular - you just gotta know where to look. The crowd I'm speaking of comes out at night, or will stay in the comfort of their own domains and hoop. Some with plain hoops, some with LED lighted hoops, and some with fire sticks attached to hoops. On average they're all 25 - 30 years younger than I am, so I won't be hanging out with them but it sure is a fun challenge to test your photographic skills when you can collaborate with someone.
This is Anley, a native Floridian. These LED hoops can cost $400 USD or more depending on what lighting patterns are programmed into them.

Added a little structure to the previous image in Silver Efex. I'm curious to see what, if any, difference there will be when I stack this set of images and further process them.
Not sure when that's going to happen, though ...
