Ilvy Kokomo The lovely Latvian in the Palm Beaches
Today I had the pleasure of meeting and assisting Mark Crislip (better known here as Pitch Black Polo) on a shoot with the incredibly lovely Ilvy Kokomo from Latvia. I know that many of you here have fond memories of him! He's still shooting the D800 and D810 (no D750 or D500). Mark is incredibly talented and knows what he wants to see and produce. Contrary to his perceived personality on this board, I know now why models love to shoot with him. He's fun to shoot with and keeps his models engaged and feeling good. This photo is not as good as what he captured but hey, I was happy to be there. By the way, Ilvy is an absolute gem of a girl - very smart and so much fun to work with.
Mark let me play with his Nikon 200mm f/2 although I didn't shoot any of my photos with it. I now know what it takes to shoot f/1.4 in broad daylight thanks to hanging out with this pair today.

Thanks for the update Rx4Photo. I really miss his outstanding photos of the models and opinions. It's too bad he got boxed into a corner and left us.

You're welcome Photobug. I hope to go out with them again before she heads off to Puerto Rico. I primarily held lighting but PitchBlack let me grab a few shots. Just to rub it in a bit ... he shot some photos that could never be shown on this site
