Thanks for the feedback mhedges......might be worth me checking out the latest mirrorless although I'm really waiting to get my hands on a D850 when the price is right - think I'm stuck with my eye up close and personal with the OVF for now!!!

I have had limited opportunities to explore all the abilities of the Z 20mm f/1.8 S but it did pretty good on the closeup-of-the-cat test.

We have a fair number of hummers and butterflies in the yard at this time of year. I shoot them through a double pane low-E window and they are most active late in the afternoon so it becomes an exercise in working the exposure triangle. Trying to stop down the 200-500 (@ 500 on a D7200) to get a little more DOF I find myself backed into a corner pretty often.
