As posted on the Blog: https://nikonrumors.com/2022/07/20/for-all-diehard-nikon-dslr-fans-the-nikkor-af-s-300mm-f-2-8g-ed-vr-ii-lens-is-now-3849-1650-off.aspx/#more-172540 there is an insanely good discount on the Nikon F 300 f2.8 . I tried one once, a friend had rented it and let me take a couple headshots of bobcats that laid down near us, and it was so sharp it made my shot with 70-200 f2.8E look blurry in comparison! I could use one for sure, but I don't NEED one and I don't really have the money. But it almost seems too good to pass up (and with the increasing decline of F mount gear, it's now or never for a new one). Why do they have to tempt us like this?
I suspected the f mount catalog might vanish pretty quickly if the Z hardware took off. Even so I have to say the speed at which it seems to be happening is a little breathtaking.
