Photographed today with my 20 year old Nikon D2x: European Starling. They have Iridescent black feathers which can reflect green or purple light in certain situations. You can see that effect in this photo.
Just a test for a portrait lighting set-up using a mannequin. Trying to achieve nice soft lighting on the face yet some shadows defining surfaces and pretty colors in the blurred background so there is some "pop" to the overall image. I shot this test with both the Nikon D700 and the Nikon Z6III. You can find the images side by side on my flickr photostream. Just click on the picture below to go to flckr. I am surprised by how well the D700 rendered this image with its 12 megapixels. I think the D700 image could be printed at 24 x 36 inches and still look good.
Where does the time go? Apparently I never processed or posted any images from the "Human+Nature" exhibit at the Morton Arboretum; these are from 2022!!

reprocessing and posting a few old images. Ran this one through Gigapixel at 2X to what I'd get.
