@Rx4Photo- Nice macro! ...I'm amazed at the level of photos I see here everyday and thank you all for keeping me motivated. Each photo inspires me to think outside my comfort zone and try something new. I know that's contrary to all the professional advice to find something and stick with it but there is so much to photograph. I guess i'll never find my niche.
Keep an open mind and don't be afraid to experiment. My niche is everything Everything is fair game!
1) Melt corner of chocolate bar with a Coleman torch lighter. 2) Press ring into melted chocolate and hold in position until it solidifies. Help along with blowing. 3) Take picture. 4) Don't tell wife about 1 and 2.
Been hammering my editing style to capture a more natural look and a bit more vibrancy and even shadows/highlights. Forgot about this capture from back during my NYC trip.
Well I have been MIA from this part of our forum for a few months....due to work mainly...have not had the opportunity to go out and have some fun with my gear. But thanks to all of you lovely people, I have enjoyed your work and has filled my hunger. Having said that, I got out the other night and went out shooting some HDR. So for the next few days you will be seeing some of my work. Cheers
@pippigurl Haven't seen a single shot of you I didn't like @Golf007sd I wonder: ballhead? would I like the very artificial shot more, if it would be perfectly symmetrical and the distortion of the 14-24 adjusted by software? I'm not sure :-/ @itsnotmeyouknow great perspective, great lightbalance @all so many awesome shots each day!
Look at it in this Lightbox Link to see it better: http://www.flickr.com/photos/76080384@N03/8693738413/lightbox/ I think the D600 does a nice job with skin tones and with subtle variations in skin tones. Personally, I don't feel the need to purchase a medium format system for better skin tones or better subtle variations in skin tones. The lighting setup is two cool light CFL softboxes and one SB 600 powered beauty dish combined with natural diffused light from two sets of French Doors.
@autofocus it was 85mm f1.4G! thanks for your comment, autofocus. 50mm f1.8G at 1.8. the idea is that to isolate these two dancers in order to demonstrate on the female dancer.
I've missed some great shots! April was an impressive month! Back to my Ospreys.. Sorry about the watermark... D300 Tamron 200-500 Manual Mode F8, 1/1600th ISO 400

@aodwoz- which lens. I love the 3D feel and tone.
Edited above to include the lens.
I only wish the chocolate bar had gotten less distorted when I pressed the ring into it.
