I stand corrected. KR calls it the DX version of medium format but Wikipedia does call it a medium format camera. At 50mp it will be interesting to see how it compares to the D800x or D4x, whichever Nikon produces, which is expected to also have about a 50mp sensor.

Yeah, Pentax, Hasselblad and PhaseOne are all adopting the same 645D crop size of 44x33mm for their CMOS cameras... (rumor says they're all variants of the same Sony 50mp CMOS sensor.)

The Hasselblad is $27,500 and the PhaseOne is $35,000 so it will be interesting to see what kind of IQ the $8,500 Pentax can deliver. Incidentally the Nikon D3X had a launch price of $8,000.

Right, a few years ago you had to pay $8,000 for 24mp in FX but now you can get it for $2,000. We are living in good times!
