We'll according to the latest rumor posted by Admin, a few of my guesses seem to in play...i.e. 51 AF points & 8 FPS.

@Sports, kenadams & henrik1963: Thank you all for pointing out how WiFi could provided itself useful when used for remote camera control...I totally overlooked that.

I want WiFi for more sales - for events I would love to be able to upload easily to a screen and have an ipad that people can order/email a picture to themselves right there. The number of times I have people want a group photo of their friends I could easily get $1-5 a pop (given the event and host). How it works now is that I give a business card, (with custom info - which wastes cards) and hope they go look, or I when I send the photos to the host, and then then they maybe upload it a month later, the people rarely contact me. If I could send it to an ipad, I could sell it right there. There are other ways but it is "not fun."

That is good to see. I'm renting a DF for a job at the end of the month to try it out and I think either that or maybe the D750 may be a back up/2nd camera.

Looks like the D750 could be all the camera I need. I'll happily buy one when the dust settles. Hopefully they will not discount the D610 down to £1000 which would cloud the issue for me. Can't resist bargains.... must try harder...

If the latest info is correct then Nikon appears to be making a good camera for the "action" application.

Latest rumors are looking good. Hope they are correct.

    It sure looks good.
Now that the new shutter from the D810 is apparently a very good step forward, it WOULD be nice to get it in the D750 :-)
And then we don't want bad surprises like too small buffer or some kind of limitation to the 8 fps (8 fps only in DX mode, or whatever)

Latest admin post makes it look like a solid counterpart to a D810. It makes a general purpose, (lower pixel count), walkabout (lighter), more responsive (fps, smaller data files) camera, and puts the D810 more into the studio or fixed setup use.

I doubt its build quality and interface will be as full-featured as the pro bodies (thinking costs), but keeping the D610's interface and ergonomics and stepping up from the D610's body/frame's plastic parts would be welcome.

    .
does any one here with a D800 or D810 actually have a "studio"

You don't need to own a studio to use your camera in one...

The context was also if you had BOTH then you could leave the heavier slower camera at home.

I had a chance to use a 610 the other day but I must say I will wait for details on the 750 before a final decision. :-S

Let's face it, there are elements from the rumors here (usually true) that point - or at lease scare us - toward a juiced up D610. Then there are elements we know that suggest it would be a D700 replacement (D750 name would indicate an 'upgrade' from a D700, market conditions, competitions offerings, etc).

There's a lot of speculation floating around here all based on a very limited set of rumor information and lack of true knowledge on the inter workings over there at Nikon. I'm going to make my prediction which is mostly with my head but I'll admit has a little of my heart into it as well and putting everything we know as of now say that we'll most likely see the following:

    - Body with build materials and structure of the D610 along with the newer/better LCD that also tilts.
    - Controls however will come down from the D810 as well as all the same video capabilities (no 4K support).
    - Sensor will be very similar, if not the exact same, as the D610 & utilize full Expeed 4 processor
    - We will get the state of the art D4s/D810 AF system complete with 51 points + Group area AF, etc.
    - We will get 8fps and maybe more with the grip.
    - It will still shoot at 1/8000th and sync with flash to 1/250th
    - It will ship with dual SD Cards, no CF Support
    - It will still have a built in flash ala D700 (looks good against Canon)
    - Will be weather sealed as as much as D810
    - Buffer will last 25-35 shots at full RAW (aka 3-4 seconds of continuous burst)
    - Same EN-EL15 battery and last 1300+/- shots (similar to D810).
    - Price will be $2600-$2700

All three cameras will be capable of any genre of photography that you'd need to shoot. Each will be a little more specialized towards a few. D610, jack of all trades, entry into FX. D750 sports, wedding, live event, etc. D810 studio, landscape, etc.

It's a camera that will pull from some of the things in the D610 as well as from the D810. Where it will matter most, it'll come from the D810.

This is going to be a good camera and I think a perfect bridge between the two out now.

Same here, also picked the 51 AF points & 8 FPS.

I am so excited that they are using the 91 Pixel RGB sensor, i.e. D800/D800E/D810. That was one of my predictions but did not expect that one to come true. The D750 is looking like it's going to be a great bridge between the D610 and D810.

Still expecting more post on the main blog every few days as we get closer to the announcement date.

@JonMcGuffin - totally agree with your comment about it being a "perfect bridge camera". A lot of your predictions are similar to mine..."great minds think alike". (smile)

I was hopping for a bigger body than the D610 but if it doesn't happen, that won't deter me much from looking at the D750 especially if they follow the controls from the D800/D810.

I expect it to have the video and it does not make any difference to me if it's 4K or the same as the D610. Not a deal breaker at all.

Your right lots of predictions with little rumors to base them on. My predictions basically is what I want to fit my requirements. The D750 could be DSLR that pushes me to buy a FF DSLR.

I chuckled when I saw your statement, "My SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) from last Friday and I'm sticking too it" Wonder where that came from??? =))

@Photobug - Yes, SWAG was a good term so I had to re-use it ;)

My only concern is that I feel Nikon is probably going to release the camera that you and I are semi-spec'ing out but I feel equally as certain somewhere, they're going to drop the ball on us. They're going to stick us with 1/4000th or not include a dedicated back focus button, etc. I just have a feeling we're going to pay for the cheaper price in a way we don't have to.

But if I'm being completely honest (I own D700 and D7100 now), I'm so stupendously happy with the D810 and the way it's being reviewed and discussed, I'm certain I'll be a perfectly happy D810 owner if need be. I already sold myself on that body well before the D750 rumors. Should the D750 come out and be that perfect bridge, I'll happily take 24Mp and 8fps in lieu of that fat sensor but anything less and I'll go straight to D810.

    Should be interesting....

I wish the DF had 24 megapixels. 5 fps is fast enough for me, it is always the buffer size that limits me - but even then, I work around that.

I suppose if you need fps that is true
but as a landscape photographer who belongs to the " you cant have to many Mp club" , I think, I might leave the D750 behind

My bet is that they will start shipping in October in the US market. Not sure what history has shown for roll outs in EU, and ROW (rest of world).

Cheers spraynpray, I have a load of head and shoulder video interviews mid October and was using this as an excuse to upgrade the d7000 . Guess im stuffed .Possible dual sd cards and 24 mp maybe work better as an upgrade from the d7000 than the 810 would.

Recently I have picked up interest in buying a new Nikon camera. I have been waiting for a D7200 or a D9300 or a similar rig. I have a number of friends who are photo pros. They earn part of their living using cameras. But if I were to classify this group I'd say it better have video and really good still photo capability and a reasonable price point or forget selling to them. Yes, they are guys using Go Pros, Black Magic Pocket Cameras, Nikon DSLRs, and whatever they think will get the job done. In my opinion using two SD cards is way better than using one a Compact Flash. Sorry.....I just have had better luck with SD cards! They are also less expensive and save space in design, therefore make for a smaller, more streamlined body. The Nikon camera that has this group wondering where Nikon is coming from is the Df. And we sure have looked close at the D610. But it is a D7100 with a full FX sensor. Give me a D7100 instead. I also could not disagree more on speculated pricing that may be "acceptable". Bring it in at $2,500 and unless it has some premium features like brighter pentaprism, etc. and Nikon will attract very few new customers!
