@Hammie:I often remove a card and upload images from it and replace it in the camera with the images on it and do not reformat until I am sure they have backed up. it.
vs D7100Here is the comparison between the D7100 and D600 as posted by someone:
Yes the D750 is better than the D600/D610 for the spread in AF points. It's just not as wide as the D7100. I thought there was a comparison between the D750 and D7100 but could not find it so I grabbed the D7100/D600/D610 comparison. It's a "minor" issue and not a major inconvenience. I was doing a lot of macro work this past week and that is when the inconvenience really jumped out at me.
Live view? Depends on your idea of macro. If it involves static subjects and a tripod, then yeah, live view may help but if it involves insects that are only stopping for 2-10 seconds and never actually keep properly still, you don't have time for any kind of focus except manual and swaying until the subject is in focus under those circs I can't imagine not having the camera touching my head.
Macro is a whole different beast. Most modern tech just doest work with it,. AF and VR ? turn them off, Auto ISO? forget it. Only thing that helps is nikon's CLS iTTL flash. Its awesome ! .. but even that doesn't work when the subject is small and isolated. so its back to all fully manual everything! That's the fun and frustration of Macro.
@photobug you have a loving wife. Have you considered a camranger or similar it also does focus stacking so that might be an option for the macro work. there are other models at lower cost. Just wondering.
