Of course I misread your question... Thought you meant SLR. The DSLR answer is D1.

Darn, got #2 wrong. Close, but no cigar. But I stand on #1, "mass market", which is different to:

    1. First production Nikon AF SLR
    2. First production Nikkor AF lenses
    3. First Nikon Speedlight with AF illuminator

    Good luck!

    1. Yes
    2. Nope
    3. Yes, though it actually was used before that, but only in Japan as "Nikko". Nikkor is the westernized term.

A 1200-1700 f/5.6-8 weighs in at 36lbs or 16,000g. Not only that, but the lens retailed at $60K. So - See more at: http://forum.nikonrumors.com/discussion/comment/135704#Comment_135704

    Answers:
    1. Nikon F3 AF variant. It is not the same AF system currently used by Nikon DSLR's and the early AF lenses it used are not supported by modern Nikon SLR/DSLR cameras.
    2. Don't recall
    3. SB-24 I think, at least that's the first one I remember having one. Might have been the SB-22, but I'm not sure.

Wasn't there an earlier model before the SB-22 that had AF illuminator?
That #3 is a tough and really good question.

    1. Correct
    2. Hint: they are related to answer #1
    3. SB-24 came out with the F-801/N8008, so we are looking for something even older but not related with either question #1 nor #2 (I actually had to look at my old catalogs to look up this one!)

    1. True or false- Nikon made an APS-C film camera
    2. True or false- Nikon made an AF 300mm F2
    3. True or false- Nikon made DSLRs with a 1/16000 shutter speed

I don't know enough minutiae about Nikon, this is the best I could do.

    Edited for answers.

    Answers-
    1. True- Nikon made the Pronea, which is an APS sized film camera for a little while. They only made two models though and were AF-S compatible, even with DX glass.
    2. True- I thought it was false, but it is true.
    3. True- The D1 had it.

    1. True - Sort of, it was just APS, not APS-C. Same size though.
    2. Don't know.
    3. True - Nikon D1 series cameras had a max shutter speed of 1/16,000s.
