Very small bag for D800 & short lens recommendation?

Anyone have a recommendation for a small, light bag for a D800 with a short lens? I am thinking my 50mm 1.8G or 24mm 2.8D. I'd like a very small, light bag to just carry the camera when I am out hiking.

Part of this is to make a portable setup for my D800E so I use it more, rather than buying a G1x or an RX100. :)

Thanks!

The ZINC messenger bag is my smallest bag. You could probably do smaller but that one is great for me when I just need to do a quick errand.

If you want to get a bag just for the camera and a small lens, maybe look into the largest Lowe Pro Top Loader.

Those are the two smallest lenses but make a big difference in the images you would be taking. For a small zoom that is equiv. to G1x or RX100 and in the similar price range is the 24-85vr. For a bit more is the 24-120 F4 which is a great lens a bit bigger but not as heavy as some.

The most important thing is that It all depends on the images you want to create and which focal length fits your vision. Picking a lens on it physical size only is kind of like picking a car based on it's tire size - it doesn't take into account what it offers.

Thanks all, I was looking at the Lowepro Toploaders and it seems that the smallest one that the D800 will fit in is the Pro 65 AW = http://store.lowepro.com/toploading/toploader-pro-65-aw
I was hoping for something smaller and lighter.

A neoprene wrap might do it, but then I'd have to figure out a different strap I think, but still that might be a good option, thanks Ironheart!

TaoTeJared, I already have those lenses. I am just looking for the smallest bag that would fit a Nikon D800 with a stubby prime like my 50mm or 24mm. Thanks.

I think I might go for the Toploader Pro 65 AW, that will fit my D800 and any of my primes and even up to my 24-120mm f/4 zoom.

    Thanks all!

A good thing about the toploaders is that you can use the straps to stop the camera swinging around which is very useful when scrambling over rocks etc.
    Always learning.

I have and like the Think Tank Holster for when I only want the D800 w/o battery grip and one lens.

I bought the Lowepro Toploader 65 AW
    http://store.lowepro.com/toploading/toploader-pro-65-aw
Which seems pretty good, but it might be a bit heavy for its size. The case is square, which is a bit odd, I'd rather it be a bit more rectangular to fit the camera body.

I later found the Ape Case ACPRO 650
    http://apecase.com/products/dslr-holsters/acpro650-standard-dslr-holster/
Which might be a good option as well.

Anyone tried the Ape Case? If it is better, I could return the Lowepro.

Those who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it!

I use a Domke F-5XZ (which is a bit narrow for the D800) and Domke F-5XC which is just enough wider that it fits well. The second bag I can actually get a D800, 50, 85 1.8, and either a flash or a 105vr/24-120vr f4 all in it. (I love when people pick it up when it is that loaded down. ;) It is small at 9.75 x 4 x 9.25in but it can be divided top and bottom where the bottom has a small zipper area so you can put the dividers in to cut the bag in half. Usually I'll put in my X100, D800 w/ 50mm and a SB-600/900 with sync cable and it can still fit a water bottle and Ipad mini.

Gaffers tape over the Nikon label and it might be okay...
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
