Format Memory Cards or Delete Images?

After that first format I would only reformat a memory card in the camera. Have heard complaints by individuals who after transferring files to their computer and then reformatting the memory card on the computer.

So @NSXTypeR there is no issues in formatting a memory card in the camera. It's safe.

After moving the RAW images to my external hard drive, importing into Lightroom, and editing down to the images I am going to process, then, I return the card to the camera and format both cards. I suspect the cards in my D4 have been formatted about 500 times in camera.

Like Msmoto, 90% of the time I reformat that memory card in the camera after moving files to my computer HD.
