I am not sure what happened here. I was tacking a Belted Kingfisher as he was diving into the water and thought that I had missed the impact. Looking at the image at home I could see that I had caught his impact with water, but don't know where the second Kingfisher came from.
A much less captivating subject from me. My first attempt at real fast moving sports (with the exception of cycling, which is generally far more predictable). As always, I am humbled by the difficulty.
Thank you much, SquamishPhoto, for your comments on the last page. I've recently checked the fine tune adjustment on all of my lenses and now getting more accurate focusing right where it should be.

Strapped a camera on my son's head during the Boston Bruins 3 minutes of fame intermission skate. All the players really enjoyed skating in front of the big crowd.
Cool shot Jimo. Another quiet evening at the lake for me. These two girls were kind enough to freeze for a second or two. D800 | 24-70 | 70mm | f/3.2 | 1/5s | ISO 200
This Female Taiga Flycatcher (Ficedula albicilla) seems to love modelling for me ..... but at just under 5 inches in size, she's really tricky to focus on when darting about !! ......
Here she's darting back to her favorite perch after grabbing an insect .....
Some autumn color I ran across as the sun was setting. Rather dark when I shot it so tried 800 ISO. D5100, 105mm VR @ f/4, 1/30, bumped the saturation and deepened the blacks for effect
