This was done with equipment generally considered "inferior." The D600 and the 28-300mm zoom at 300mm where it is generally considered soft. This is probably the last rose blooming in my garden this year.
Oct. is the time of year for the Texas State Fair. Below is a pic of Big Tex. Last year he caught on fire due to an electrical issue but has now been rebuilt and changed some. For those who are familiar with Big Tex here is the new version. To everybody else here is Big Tex.
So many good shots in here - keep up the good work. I have been chasing fall colors the past two sundays - here is a taste of what´s to come - showing all colors :-) I think this weekend will be perfect.
Got a bit carried away when shooting in my garden. Here are equipment and settings:
Nikon 1 J2, TC 17, AFS 600 f/4
1/1000 sec, f/6.7, ISO 1600. The image is not cropped.
I think there are a couple of threads in the moment talking about the Nikon 1 system, it's low light performance and other P/S cameras. If I would be in the market for a pocket-size camera, the Nikon 1 AW 1 would be a no-brainer. The Nikon 1 system is a good camera in itself, and with the possibility to attache F-mount lenses + water seal, it adds just so much options to your photography.
At the time I knew I probably shold have had a model release form, but was way too focused on task at hand, which was shooting with models for my first time... Yesterday I got invited to Getty Images and this was one of the images they wanted, so now I'm trying to get release form signed... Next time I'll have it printed out in advance, come to think of it, perhaps I should keep a few in my bag as a standard.
