October 30th: Roosta's father, tentative trail name Cubicle, had joined us for the last stretch of the hike. We reached him where he had camped on the night of the 29th and then all set out together in the morning. The two of them camped at the Worthington State Forest backpacker campsite on the night of the 30th while I pressed on ahead to my truck. I had taken a test hike from the Delaware Water Gap up to that campsite in late February, so I had technically finished my 2013 hike at that spot. I decided to push on late in the evening and return to my truck at the Delaware Water Gap. Here is a photo looking down from the Appalachian Trail to Douglas Creek, which parallels the Trail for the last stretch down to the Delaware River.
