My reportage streak is working today. This furniture plant, at one time the manufacturer of high end office furniture, and owned by dear friends, has long since been abandoned. At 72 hours after the initial fire, there is still combustion in the rubble pile and when it flares up the engine company dumps on more water. High Point, North Carolina was at one time the center of the world furniture industry.
Mine for today. Always like the use of black and white for images like this, to accentuate the textures. D800 | 17-35 | 26mm | f/10 | 2.5s | ISO 100 | 10-stop filter used Processed using Silver Efex
Nikon D7100; AF-S DX 35mm f1.8; AF-S DX Macro 40mm f2.8; AF-S DX 18-200mm VRII; SB-700 Speed Light and a bunch of other not very noteworthy stuff......
Mine for today. Magnificent frigate birds in silhouette. D800 | 300mm + TC1.4 | f/4 | 1/6400 | ISO 1000 I wanted to get as high a shutter speed as possible to counter the fact that I was sitting in a zodiac in some pretty rough water.
