I feel like I went a little over the top with the HDR on this one, but I kind of like it.
I'm finding that HDR has become a little tedious and over-done. Golf had some really cool ones last year. However, because you did go over the top, you created a more stylistic image. It feels like I'm standing on the drab shores of yesterday, looking out at the promise of tomorrow. Well done, PB_PM. I should shut my yap now, as this is PAD and not the Critique thread. +1
I'm sorry you think you went over the top. I've stared at the picture for several minutes and I simply love it!

Sitting on my balcony trying to take pictures of humming birds 25+ feet away in a tree, when this friendly bird sits down 5 feet away on a chair back. D3s, 300mm f4 AFS w/TC14E extender, f8 ,1/750, spot, EV -1.5, 100% crop. You can see the balcony and me in the birds eye.

@framer: No exif so I can't check what software you used - if you use the mask control in Lightroom whilst holding down the alt key, you can adjust (and see while you're doing it) the areas you sharpen. Your pic is sharpened all over which is too prominent/distracting. If you do what I said, the sharpening can be limited to the edges and you avoid all those other sharpening artifacts.
Msmoto, Following your diections and nothing happening. Any ideas or suggestions?
When you grab the html code from Flickr, make sure to choose 'HTML' from under the drop down that should say 'Medium 640....". You selected 'Embed'. They make it quite difficult to read if you are not looking for it.
Say, moderators, why was 'Testing' in 'General Discussion' closed? It was nice to be able to test without doing in front of people.
I shot my second Army homecoming this morning here at Fort Hood. It's very different being behind the camera for these events rather than in front of it as I've been before. Such an emotional event. Here is the Soldier who I was hired by his GF to photograph the event reuniting with his mother after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.

I'd work on it more but it's already in my trash folder. Ugly bird it was.
Here's what I was attempting to get image of...
This one I might work on more later.
