Outstanding shots everyone. A few personal shot-outs:
@Luckie: The colors are very well done. The sky is beautiful. @flight3: Very creative work with the lights. What this done by zooming in and out and slow shutter speed. @Benji2505: Truly stunning. Amazing composition and the star are just lovely. B&W is a home run. @Vipmediastar_JZ: What an great time we had. Hope some of my tips will stay with you. See you later in the week. Lastly, great shot....oooh them eyes

I came to the conclusion that the AF system in my D7100 was not working correctly. I sent it back to Nikon and have been shooting with my friends D600. I've been pretty impressed considering its not an "action camera"
here is another one from the same night session in ME. This one is light painted. 15s exposure, then 3 manual SB900 triggers to light the fence and the tower.
Mine for today. Driving back from having a beer with Golf, I encountered several deer along the side of a country road. While most took off immediately after I stopped, this one was considerate enough to wait for me to change lenses (from my 17-35 to my 70-200) and sit still while I squeezed off a few frames.
