Every year when the holiday tree is finished, I try, feebly at best, to take pictures of it. For some reason, taking a picture of our tree is for me a hard challenge. One I don't seem to ever master very well. This year's picture is hand held (yes, I own a good tripod, but was too lazy to use it) at 1/100 second. Flash was not fired (but for some reason, the recording data says flash was on and it fired). It definitely did not fire. Anyway, here's this years Christmas tree, which I can tell you looks much better in person! What's frustrating is I took a picture of the tree with my iPhone and I actually like the iPhone picture better. Since I can only post one picture today, I'll post the iPhone picture tomorrow.
Ps: I had to lighten the original in Lightroom a tad.......

Flash did fire. You can see the shadow it produced, just look at the top of the tree.
You're probably right, but I don't remember flash firing. Still, I find taking a picture of a Christmas Tree very difficult.

Ps: I had to lighten the original in Lightroom a tad....... Its a good picture @rbrylawski. You say you struggle with tree pictures...well here are my tips to take "Great Christmas Tree" pictures. Been doing this from my days with film and it works for film and digital. I am opening a new forum on this subject rather than hijacking PAD.
