X-mas comes early this year, tomorrow I expect the D810 arriving..
I didn't plan on getting it until next year, but there was a x-mas sale and I didn't manage to resist...
So although it is true what I told wife about not getting a new camera now for years, I didn't tell her that now I will set my eyes on a 70 - 200 f2.8 :-)

It's not everyday you get to see a 4-time World Champion doing 1-handed donuts on the streets of Austin, TX. :) Photo was from The Formula 1 Race in Austin, TX 2014 (late October)

    Some really great stuff here.

I have a few shots to share of Sandra. The shoot didn't pan out the way I planned for it to go which was out of my control, but they say a photographer has to work the best out of a situation right?

I've wondered a couple of times if I would know if one of my photos on Flickr became Explored...
First off wife got more than a bit annoyed as phone started buzzing and lighting up all the time and she couldn't get any sleep from around 4 am... (so now phone is set not to give off sound alarm on flickr) and got a lot more followers than I normally get in a day I got in just a few hours and instead of 9 000 - 20 000 views a day so far I'm up to 120 000...
The odd thing is that the photo was one that I probably wouldn't have edited at all, but Ida liked it...

I took this a few years ago at a car show, so probably not the same car, but definitely the same sponsor.

I live in a very heavily military oriented (both active duty and retired) town (Pensacola, FL) and we have a ¾ scale version of the Vietnam Memorial Wall South. I spent 23 years in the US Army Infantry and was very lucky to have finished it alive. I have tried many variations of this image in the 6 years since I took this self-portrait. I just never could find a way to really convey the very deep emotions that are behind it. I think I have finally found it with this one. I am looking at the name SP4 Thomas Jefferson “TJ” Chandler, who was a dear friend of mine and my family. The thing you cannot see in this image are the tears which are streaming down my cheeks. TJ was originally from Memphis and he was killed in Vietnam by mortar fragments during a firefight on March 15th 1966 after being in country for less than 3 months (he in-chopped Dec 28, 1965). He was only 22 and I was only 9 at the time. In just a couple of weeks TJ will have been gone for 48 years, which just boggles my mind. RIP TJ, gone but never forgotten, I love you and miss you dearly soldier and friend.
