Photobug, your amazing eagle shots this past week or so remind me of a story I wanted to tell (classic photographer's lament). I was driving home from the gym one morning last week at around 8:15am when two mature eagles flew across the road toward a wilderness area not 20 feet above my car. Even if I'd had a camera with me, I wouldn't have had time to get a shot off. I did, however, get a tremendous look at them through my sunroof. Lost opportunities.

i had an eagle in front of me in New Zealand last year which was picking up easy pickings - road kill, and I disturbed it as I drove along on my way to Milford Sound not too long after sunrise. Majestic it was, but I didn't stand a chance of getting it!

I forgot to mention I rented the place Loren and I shot in (along with a couple others). It was a great spot for the type of images I like to do. This window saw a lot of use that day.

Thanks for the kind words. That is some story and I totally agree; there is no way you had a shot. Thanks for sharing. Only have a few more Eagles to go and then switching to Amaryllis Minerva for macro shots.

@itsnotmeyouknow - yes another lost opportunity. Based upon my experience in shooting Bald Eagles in Florida and Wisconsin, the keeper rate is so low. Thanks for sharing your story.

Took my youngest to the nearest zoo, she got for the upcoming birthday my old D5100 which I had as backup body and shot with that, and I got to try the inexpensive Sigma 150 - 500.
With the drop of oil prices our currency (Norwegian krone) has fallen quite hard, and so a lot of imported stuff suddenly got 10 - 20% more expensive. I happen to come across a return to store Nikon 70 - 200mm f/2.8 for about 1/4 off the new full price... so I got that and afterwards called wife and wondered if I was allowed home :-).... I was, and now I will have to make another trip to the zoo to check difference between the cheap Sigma and the 70 - 200..

Budapest? That looks like Fisherman's Bastion to me - a great viewing point of Budapest. If you like gothic cities, you should visit Dresden. Amazing how they rebuilt the city.

Museum shots... nearly impossible to capture unless one can have a closed session and huge amounts of time, but, in the public timeframe, as permitted in The Henry Ford.... one more of the Allegheny 2-6-6-6

Maybe requires viewing here to see anything

Another from that fantastic sunrise shoot last week. Have processed this one a bit differently. This was a little while before the sun came up. I first converted this to black and white in Silver efex, and then reduced the opacity of the silver efex layer to 34% and the fill to 50%. I like the look of it and have printed it at A4 size and like it quite a lot.

I held back on posting this image because I thought it might be a bit over-the-top for some. Yet, there are more clothes here than what you'd see on any beach nowadays.

Ashley described several outfits and poses that she wanted in her portfolio and this was one of them. She works this look so beautifully and in my opinion she nailed it. For the record, she's a Psychology major at an upstate New York University with plans of heading into a medical career. So, another example of beauty and brains.
