I finally got to shoot a model in the snow. This Saturday was awesome, I had a model that was more than ok with getting a bit cold, sun came out, wasn't too cold (just around freezing temperature) with no or little wind and I had my new Nikon 70 - 200 mm to test.. Here Renate was sitting just under a small tree when a little wind made the snow fall a little bit, I started shooting like crazy every time it did and I got a couple I was happy with.

Nikon Coolpix P6000 IR converted to deep blue by Lifepixel Haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but finally got some good weather to try it out. Second photo of mine to go Explore on Flickr, good thing I turned off the notifications from Flickr on my phone after last time, as wife wasn't pleased when phone kept buzzing all night...
oh, and please do tell me if the amount of skin shown here is offensive as even if I'd lived a year as an exchange student in the US way back in mid '80s I struggle with wrapping my mind around the concept of nudity being offensive (but I do want to follow the rules...)

Going older and a different continent for a few shots. This is early morning on Lake Louise in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. We lived in Seattle when we visited. We drove up by going through the Idaho Panhandle and entering Canada right at the tip of the panhandle. When I answered the Canadian border guard about where we were going, he smiled and said "Even when you're there looking at that place, you can't believe it's real." Great description of it. And it was Bing's Photo of the day that introduced me to the existence of Banff. Once I saw that picture, we had to go visit it.
This is currently #10 on Flickr Explore. While I do not lend Explore much credibility, it is fun to watch the visits and faves go up.
SLH1234, nice shot of Lake Louise. I had the good fortune to stay in the lodge with a perfect view for the good part of a week for a conference. It is a fabulous place. I trust that you made it to Morraine Lake as well. I will have to post some of those shots.
