The Yukon Quest International Sled Dog race started four days ago in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Teams are running the 1,000 mile course to Fairbanks. The start alternates between Whitehorse and Fairbanks. This photo is from last year's start in Fairbanks.
@DavidJaan I've always enjoyed seeing your artistry in this environment. A couple of questions for ya. What has been your primary lens of choice here and are you mostly autofocusing or having to manual focus some for these captures? Thanks, and keep it up!
Last summer I went location scouting near where my in-laws live and had a vague memory from a beach that had some rock formations that could be good. Been a while since I had been there so I wasn't quite sure how it was, but when I got there I was amazed. Within a very, very short radius I saw 5-6 completely different spots that didn't look like anything like the previous. Perfect place when one hauls gear :-) Came back to shoot a little bit more with same model, Renate, and took some shots here. Last time we stayed until sun went down ( must have been at least 4 hours), but this time it was a bit too grey and bleak so we headed up to mountains and did a lot of shots in the snow.
