I've found a old F80. When I mount the TC-14EII, you can see the coupling part move around as you rotate the TC into position. This doesn't happen with the D850. So I'm wondering if the TC14-EII doesn't work on the D850?
Please don't tell me there's more s*!t I have to replace because I upgraded my camera!
My son's up in a few weeks, so I'll try it on his D200

Go to the Nikon web site and to the list of TCs. You will find a link to a PDF that shows the compatibility of TCs and camera models. You may have to do some digging, but its there and very accurate.
