    Thanks mhedges, I've really enjoyed watching the changing light and colours across the vineyards...here's another with a natural star burst from the setting sun...

    Enjoying the footie photos being a sports photog. I'm thinking it's much trickier getting good shots of fast moving sports than the static golf pics I take.

    @Peter - Any ideas? I can't see a reason for this.

    Spraynpray, I appreciate your comments on my street photo in the previous month. I was going to respond, but was busy with my tribute.

    I agree with what you say. The photo was completely candid, so I could not do anything about the background. I also agree that it would have been better at 2.8 than 4.0. However, I only shoot at 2.8 when I have a single subject or have the ability to line everyone up in the plane of focus, which is hard with a candid shot.

    Note the following image:

    Scott and His Family

    So this was not candid. They posed that way, but the background sucked, so I maneuverer them to a better background. Alas, I shot at 2.8 instead of 4.0 and he is a bit soft. Thus my general rule above.

    Yep, that's the difference.
    Always learning.

    Peter and spraynpray - that issue went on for a couple of days and then it went away and I have not had any issues posting on PAD or in other forums/threads.

    D200 with a Tamron telephoto at 440mm.
    This was taken at a state park in Ohio and the local camera store was the sponsor and Tamron provided the lens free of charge. Interesting story...six months later sold the D200 and bought the D300 and within 2 weeks of the event, I bought a Tamron 200-500mm lens. Kept that Tamron for 6 years and sold it just after the Tamron 150-600 was announced.

    Variegated meadowhawk photographed at Saguaro National Park West, Arizona, October 19, 2020. Nikon D500, Nikkor 500PF lens, iso 640, f/11, 1/320 second. (Edit - after posting I notice it looks blurry, though the original is sharp. I cannot figure out how to delete it, so apologies if it makes your eyes buggy - pun intended.)

    Not one of my better pics - I was trying to watch and photograph at the same time and as a result failed at both. But this right after my daughter (white jersey near center) made her first goal of the season - an absolute bullet.

    Love the shots grasshopper and other small inspects. Nice work with the 500PF lens.
    mhedges...bet there are lots of parents with cameras that missed the key photo...but missing a scoring shot - I can hear both your daughter and wife. Are you out of the dog house yet?
