Heya folks, I'm on a few days' break at home from the Appalachian Trail, so I can start processing and uploading some of my photos. Here's the start - March 2 in freezing weather on Springer Mountain.

Still trying to figure out the Raynox 250. Not quite there yet, but using a tripod and a wireless remote has gotten me much closer to where I want to be. Now if I could only find some bees . . .

Wow, some really unbelievable captures this month so far. I have been busy so I have a lot to catch up on!
Did some business portraits. I walked in and saw the orange wall and decided not to set up a background and use it. The client was nervous so I ended up making a white background option in post, but I feel the orange really worked well here.
@GreyBagel I like that background, too. Suddenly I realized the transparency (her left side, close to the necklace) of her shirt's fabric and that was awkward: it did send different signals to my brains and I'm not sure if I like all of them in aspect of the purpose of this very nice and friendly portrait.
Thank you Mikep, Ton, Aodwoz, and all visits to Flickr. Yep, Mikep, I added a mild touch of eye shadow on the lids to somewhat match the earrings. After learning how to do this it's amazing how natural it looks. She was pleased.
It's so nice seeing some spring backgrounds. I'm having a blast with my big ol clunky Tokina 300 F2.8... even wide open with a TC it's not too bad... D300-Tokina 300 F2.8 + Tamron 1.4x 1/1250th, f4, ISO 400

Welcome back, Pickerel.
70-200 + TC 17
I think this is as sharp as this combination gets. Panning on a tripod, VR off.

Oh, and very nice fern frond shot too.
@ kanuck - that street art shot is really striking.
@ibecamewe > many thanks ! I actually hesitated before posting it, thinking it might be too personnal or contextual ...
Here is my shot for today : Lizard trail (or maybe some kind of arabic message !)

Shot handheld in a rainy shelter in Georgia. The dog's eyes were closed on the first shot but they popped open when he heard the shutter.

The best camera is always the one you have. Walked the dog today with my P 7100. It is set to JPG, but I still could do a little post in Lightroom.
