Playing with the Sigma 35mm again today. Trying to mimic late evening window light with a strobe. It's difficult to appreciate this at 640mp. D800, ISO 100, 1/200sec, Sigma @ 35mm, f8, Profoto D1 500 @ lowest setting, 22' Beauty dish with diffuser frame right.
For those who asked..high level position...hold camera over head and shoot several while moving the camera slowly....then pick in first edit the angle you want. (24mm lens, full frame)
Msmoto: Nice photo; It is great to see old lenses used!
Prime 85mm lens used for this, not the best choice in this situation since a wide angle lens could have provided more depth of field but it was all I had with me at the time. The 24-85 "kit" lens would have produced a better photo because I could have zoomed it to wide angle. You can see what I am talking about better in the lighbox link below.
An opportunity missed here - I surprised this squirrel while walking down the street. It actually held a couple of poses for me, but I was too fumble fingered to get a fast enough shutter speed to get a good sharp pic. I gotta learn this equipment better.

Shot using D5100 and NIKKOR 70-200/2.8 at the second Sound Central music festival in Kabul Afghanistan. This is Никита Макаренко from the Uzbek Rock Band "Tears of the Sun".
This guy - Darren Brown (?) from England wanted to spend some sparkling wine, after he won 500 Swiss francs for jumping with his bike over a 7.5m (24.6 ft) highjump bar. And there was still some space between the wheels and the bar. Awesome. We have BikeDays in town and I will post some of the pics the next days.

I love it when I get to see an eagle fly by so close...
