My share for today....another shot with the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ...i like the sharpness, clarity and detail of the infocus areasconsidering the very low light scene D800, Sigma 35mm f1/4, ISO 400, 1/125, f/1.4
These are Roseate Spoonbills. The birders who were there were particularly excited to see them. Eventually four more joined them for a total of six. I thought the birders were going to pass out from excitement. D90 | 300mm + TC17 | f/4.8 | 1/400s | ISO 400
@ proudgeek, Great catch. They're a rare find and tend to be very shy around people. From my very limited experience I've noticed that they will fly off much sooner than Egrets, Ibis, and Great Blue Herons when approached by a human with a Nikon : ).
I took this picture almost 5 years ago in elephant orphanage centre near Chitwan National Park, Nepal with my already gone d200. It wasn't up to my standards back in the 2008 but I liked the composition so much that I didn't deleted it. Today I had this idea to browse some of my older pictures and I found this one and decided to give it a shot. Played a little bit with it and... I'm more than pleased with the outcome.
Been a while since I have posted--waiting for something worthy. I hope this wild geranium and visitor suffice. This is at ISO 2800 on a D90, f/16, Micro-Nikkor 60mm AF (oldie but a goodie.)
Was thinking about Dissent's dandelions the other day and tried this. Placed single dandelion in a clothespin, then put it against a matte black background (in this case a folder from my son's schoolwork). Then shot using a flash in commander mode, positioning it directly over the flower. Bumped up the contrast just a bit to eliminate any remnant of the stem. Stopped down to f/32 loses a bit of sharpness, so maybe some day I'll try focus stacking. Dissent, thanks for the inspiration and sorry for the knock off.
