@squamishphoto I really like your portrait on page 11. @birders you never cease to amaze me, I find birds so hard to catch, you all have my admiration. A tribute to dogs used in the battlefield during the first world war.
Hikers tented at A. Rufus Morgan Shelter, just south of the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Long exposure propped up from where I was about to sleep, on the ground because I had just lost my hammock straps. A bit blurred from not the best support, but it catches the mood of hiker bedtime.
This was shot in the backyard, attempting to regain my macro creds. Tough stuff this digital. D3000, 55mm, ISO-100, 1/60 at 5.6 with a 20mm Polaroid macro extension tube. Trimmed square and reduced to 640.
Swansea has the Wales Air show on at the moment. I was too slow to catch the Red Arrows as they flew over our house but caught The Memorial Flight - which consists of a Hurricane, Spitfire MkI and a Lancaster bomber - missed this afterwards while looking at the shots on my computer, but they came over head on, so might not have been as good. Used really fast shutter speed at 1/4000 as very sunny unnecessarily used ISO of 400, but wanted to make sure I caught the shot. Would have been great to have used a slower shutter speed for movement of the propellors...
TheGipper, I especially want to welcome you because I think it's the first time I've seen your presence- excellent use of shutter speeds to get some blur in the wings and yet the beak is pin sharp!
Coastalconn- looks like that bird will be having some crab tonight!
I am so pleased with the 35mm 1.8- it focuses quite closely and has some great isolation.
This flower looks like its extending its arms for some lovely sunshine!

This photo has some blurryness issues, but I have always like it.
I shot for my first time today with the DX crop mode on my D800, it did an awesome job!
