I've been trying to get a Tree Swallow in flight forever. If you have tried you know the level of difficulty is higher than an Osprey Diving at 80 mph... D300 * Tokina 300 F2.8 * 1/2000 * F5 * ISO 400

Great shot. I'm rarely quick enough for birds!

@dpidude Nice! I almost posted my Lincoln from June ( one of my first digital shots ). I kept moving from side to side trying to get the right effect and get it all in with no passers-by. You just showed me that I didn't have to do all that. Up close and imposing!

I feel your pain. I've got one decent in flight should out of many attempts!
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
The memorial at night has some very calming effect on me, must be the lighting and reading Lincoln words. That man had a gift for the written language.
I know. With a D800 I could count the flies' legs. I just didn't knew I would meet a flyfisher holding still enough so I took only a D7100 on the cycling trip.
Here is a detail shot from an asset built in the 40s of the last century. Along the Atlantic coast you find a couple of defense hideaways that were looking for German submarines. The ring held an artillery canon by the time.
Walking in the area in February 2010 this view took my breath away: Creise and Meall a'Bhuiridh to the left and the Great Shepherd of the Glen: Buachaille Etive Môr

This fella is not going to fish but hunting flies and other insects. His patience is admirable until you find his jumper to be metalized.
