I'll add to the winter night shots. I walked out last night to find light pillars rising from every street light in town. We live in the middle of town so it was like being in a cathedral of light. I wish I could do the scene justice, but this is what it looked like toward the south (you can see Orion at the top of the image).

CC is welcome. DC is also welcome when I deserve it.
The shortly to be opened Pont Chaban Delmas in Bordeaux, yesterday. 38,000 people turned out to cross it on foot and take a look at the new landmark. (For the record, the middle bit between the towers weighs 26,000 tonnes and rises 55m in the air (in 8 minutes) to let tall ships travel up river)
For all those that have seen the movie Tucker, which was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, then you know the history behind this car. This is build number 1037, which is on display at the Coppola Winery in Napa.

Trying out the new forum and hoping I figured the image posting out. My brother ran around my sister wrapping her with a string of lights and then I flashed a speedlight in her face about 15 times.
@Squamish: very creative use of the view-camera principles (tilt)! At first, I did a double-take because of the tilted focus plane, but it fits nicely with the tree line and is therefore not "over the top". @treckie: a pleasant air of fairy-tale emanates from this picture
You know how war photographers talk about losing themselves through the viewfinder and forget that they aren't in a movie? I was way too involved in the viewfinder before I looked over the top of the camera and saw him about a metre in front of me. This was taken before I got too close. I had to crop this - he was surrounded by 4 females and was quite visibly, um, entertained? Anyway, it was NSFW.
