So there I was over looking this amazing view and had to take a shot. But not just any shot...I wanted to do an HDR but I had left my Promote Control System back at the hotel..arrr. So I said to myself...what the heck lets try the HDR function that the D4 allows me to do. Before you is my first HDR using it.

This is an older one, shot in the Galapagos a few years back. We were on this beach called Gardner Bay, which was filled with sea lions. They were pretty calm, with the exception of the males if you got too close (something I learned firsthand; a story for another day). While everyone was busting out long lenses, at the suggestion of our expedition leader I used an UWA lens and got down and tried to shoot from a "sea lion's eye view." This is one of my favorites. Juergen - Thank you for the comment. I could see that they were flying to the edge of the pond, just waited for the right moment. Wasted a lot of shots but as you know it only takes one. I used my flash with a better beamer as he was in the shadow.
I have had my truck with me since Connecticut. I use it to carry most of the things I don't need / wouldn't carry but would like to have around, and hike for a day or more before hitchhiking back it and moving it up. Here's my version of roadside camping.
