If you look closely you'll see that there was a dragonfly that landed on the stem of the flower and it looks like it's giving the flower an extra two pairs of transparent leaves.
So the great astrophotography experiment continues. Beso and I have been trading thoughts on this for the better part of a week. I still need to get to a spot devoid of light pollution so I can put what we've been discussing into practice. But this is a start. I do like the way the Milky Way came through. Here's another taken a while back. Down in the city on a cold evening. I really liked how the shadows provided some leading lines to the expression of the puppy and his friend. This was with my trusty old D300s and 17-55mm f2.8 if memory serves.
Beautiful work in PAD, lots to see and appreciate.
Belgium border with Netherland, a 5 minutes editing. Netherland land is absolutely beautiful. The trees (by species), wind turbines, canals and houses are all harmoniously and meticulously aligned which makes the land very photogenic. Will post lot more when I comeback home.
At first, I was excited entering Amsterdam, found beautiful architecture but going to the center turned-out to be more than I could handle. There was so many people and bicycles all rushing for any possible open space around the car and having to be pushy to get anywhere got me quite scared a few times. This city is probably best visited by bicycle but even then, opportunities for collisions with others is great, vey stressful.
Old Bethpage Restoration Village General Store. A very dark room with no internal lighting, just a very bright sun shining in from the doorway. No flash. D3000, 55mm, f/5.6@1/30, ISO-720.
@Benji2505: The background is a fairly simple fix. What you need to do is select the gentleman in the foreground in Photoshop. He's not going to be difficult. Add about 2 pixels of feathering and then inverse the selection. Go to your filter menu, down to blur and then over to lens blur. Experiment with amounts... do just enough. It should only take you about 1/2 an hour and it'll make a huge improvement in your photo.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I don't have PS, but work with LR and silver efex and that's where it ended . The background is unfortunate, I would agree.

Having just started using Lightroom 5 (upgraded from Lightroom 4) there's the new Radial Filter function that would probably help solve your problem in this image rather easily and quickly. Something to look into if you end up with Lightroom 5 at some point.
Just a capture from the Inn we stayed at. Not sure how old the binocs are, but they have definitely seen some years.
Continuing to work through the 6,000+ images I shot during my month in South Africa. So, I'll mix it up tonight and go with a cheetah D4+70-200/2.8 | 200mm @1/160th, f/4
@pippigurl: Wonderful! Thanks for the great colors!
Here's one that got some attention elsewhere. From my one-hour ride two days ago:
First off- wow! Your photo brings back two very special memories.
1. Acadia National Park is very pretty, and I went there with my family. Although I was there for just one day, it was really nice.
2. I am a huge fan of Studio Ghibli films and the shot reminds me of the movie Porco Rosso, a pilot who flies a bright red seaplane in a Mediterranean setting. I used to watch Ghibli films as a kid so it's very near and dear to my heart.

Here is a bw portrait from my uncle. Nightmare in PP due to the highlights in the background, but I like the way it came out

And off to share a photo of my own-
