One more from the other night. This was the first time I had tried the D800 with my 17-35. I remember looking through the viewfinder and thinking, "So that's what this lens is supposed to look like." One friend thinks there's distortion along the horizon. Any of you see it?

Outtake from the calendar shoot. Of course they don't want BW. Everything has to be over saturated for their theme. Anyway, I like how this looks in BW. Had fun and learned a few more things with the Lights.
@ donaldejose, that one looks better. I've only looked at the image on one monitor so don't know yet if it's a calibration thing. Probably not though as the photo above does not have what I noticed in the previous image.
Excellent images everybody. @ donaldejose, are there any fluorescent lights in your setup as I'm noticing a greenish color cast on some areas of her skin? Or... could there be a green rug or carpet?
I can see the green/gold hue as well. It looks to me to be a reflection of the bathing suit. It's following the same hue. I didn't notice it as much in the latter photos. Maybe because you moved the lights or changed your camera angle?
Looks like my 2006 Special Edition Busa...nice, and quick
Msmoto I would never have dreamed you ride a Busa. So, not only are you a fantastic photog, you're also an adrenaline junkie. I'm inspired here every day if not by the beautiful photos then by the wonderful characters whom capture them.
Another one from the wildlife refuge, shooting with Grad NDs surprises me more and more! Though, there is a bit of flare in this one #-o. And I know I don't always reply to the compliments on my photos, but I do appreciate them! Thank you to those who have.
Incredible stuff, all. Been unable to spend time here (or shooting) for a while and I am blown away by what I missed. I probably won't have much time to focus on photography again for a few weeks, but just uploaded some photos from a recent vacation and came across the shot below from Lake Saranac Village, NY. Straight OOTC, but I think it looks okay. So I figured I'd post it just to say "hi."
Once I knew of our Summer destination to Toronto the one photo that I HAD to return home with is the Toronto skyline at night from Centre Island. Luckily my brother-in-law was willing to put up with my silly request to to catch the ferry at 8:30 PM, fight the swarms of mosquitoes, and settle in for some long exposure shots.

@proudgeek I think it is an illusion. When I hold a straight edge to the horizon, it appears straight, but the mountains and clouds give it an upwards curl.
@greybagel Tell her I love the series. Even the wife likes it and I thought she'd frown at the whole trash the dress idea.
@turnthedarncranks I'm a sucker for old signs, so, dew drop inn, again. :P
@aodwoz - It was in the pool at the base of the waterfall from the other images.
@michael66 - Will do! She's extremely happy with the way they turned out as am I. And tell your wife thanks as well and let her know there's places that will preserve the dress even after this!

One of the amazing difference the D800 has say over the D700 is the ability on the full-rez to travel the landscape via zooming/panning.
